If your keyboard is mounted with our KS-33 low-profile switch series, it can be compatible. If not, it can not be compatible. If you’re still not sure, feel free to send a message via Amazon if you have questions.

Are these Gateron low-profile switches hot-swappable?

Yes. Gateron KS-33 low-profile switches support 3-pin hot-swap and fit a 1.2mm low-profile plate (not a 1.5mm standard MX).

Can I replace standard MX switches or mix them with other brands’ low-profile switches?

Direct replacement with standard MX switches is not possible due to different dimensions. They are also incompatible with Kailh and other low-profile switches. Mixing different types may cause an unstable connection or hardware damage.

How does the low profile feel compared to regular switches?

Feels lighter & faster, between membrane and full-size mechanical. Shorter travel reduces finger fatigue during long typing/gaming sessions.

Is a low-profile magnetic keyboard compatible with mechanical low-profile switches?

No. Low‑profile magnetic keyboards use Hall‑effect sensors and proprietary magnetic switch sockets, which work differently from mechanical switch contacts. Our KS‑33 mechanical low‑profile switches will not fit or function in magnetic keyboard PCBs.

[SMD LED] Gateron Low Profile Red Slient 2.0 key switch is SMD LED compatible. And the upper housing is a transparent color, bottom housing is in black color. The 3-pin structure is much more versatile for the key switches.
