It works with the right ice packs
You are probably here because you want a 5 day cooler. But does this work for 5 days as advertised? The short answer… it depends on the type of ice packs you have and if you can keep the cooler in the shade. The first time I went camping with this it was 90 degrees, it wasn’t always in the shade and I didn’t have good ice packs. Reusing hello fresh ice packs and packing in lose ice just didn’t cut it. So things were cold for 3 days and cool for the 4th day, by the 5th day all the ice had melted and it wasn’t very cool at all. HOWEVER!!! I assumed this had to be a user error and poor ice pack situation. The second time I took this out for 4 days of camping I had upgraded my ice packs with 2 cooler shock 18 degree f. Hard packs… WOW what a difference!! I also kept the cooler in the shade the whole time. Everything was still cold and the ice pack on the bottom still had white frost on the outside of it!!!! So get the right ice packs, keep it in the shade and it works. I have no doubt things would’ve been cold for another day if the trip lasted longer. Additionally, one of those campsites was a carry in with no carts provided. So I trucked this bad boy into the forest with me for a half mile each way and the wheels totally held up!!! Highly recommend!!!

    Love this cooler! We just took it on a 3-week road trip to Florida, and it kept things cold even in the hottest of temperatures down there. It is lightweight and has wheels which made it so much lighter and easier to use than our Yeti. Definitely worth buying.

    Coleman is a trusted name in outdoor living needs. I'm thinking that extends to hurricane prep as well. This cooler seems well made and built to last.     Great cooler that's sturdy. However, it does not keep ice for 5 days. I went camping and had to replenish the ice probably 2 times over 5 days. It was summer but not overly hot at the time either. So that was disappointing, but overall I like it. It's nice to be able to fit a large amount of cans, bottles, and food items in this without the cooler being one of the huge long ones. The lid can be difficult to open, but at least it's secure. You just have to pull up on it kind of hard. I love that this cooler has an extendable handle and wheels to make transport easier. While I wish the ice stayed longer, I'm still happy with the purchase.

    I raw feed my dog, and I need to keep her food cold/frozen during traveling. I put a refrigerator thermometer in the cooler, and it actually stayed cold for days. The ice packs took a long time to melt. This cooler is a nice size.

    Recently used this at a four day event during a heatwave and it was still cool (although our ice had melted) when we were leaving (on day 5). I'd placed it on the sunnier side of my van awning too, so it could've been better, had I put it somewhere shadier.
    We've used it a few more times and it clearly performs better when it's full. We use a combination of ice, ice packs, pre chilled with some frozen food & drinks.
    The drainage spout is handy but quite flimsy – I'll likely end up replacing this with a stronger, screw shut stopper. Shame the manufacturer skimped on this.
